Schloss Lofen

Im Schloss Lofen fühlt man sich ins 12. Jahrhundert zurückversetzt. Am 2. Juni 1122 verleiht Kaiser Heinrich V. in seinem Schloss, das im Volksmund einfach „Lofen“ genannt wird, den Utrechtern Stadtrechte. 1253 zerstört ein Brand das Schloss, doch dessen Überreste blieben bis heute in den Kellern unter den Gebäuden zwischen Domplatz und Fischmarkt bewahrt.
